Cal State Monterey Bay - Campus Data Warehouse Updates

The Admissions Funnel Projections > Trend Detail Table was updated in Campus Data Warehouse production, and the issue with the defaulted collapsed rows on some Admissions Cohort values in the table has been resolved.  

Update 5/21/2026: Enrollment-related dashboards based on the ERS Student dataset have been updated with the renaming of Legacy Race / Ethnicity fields and the addition of IPEDS Race / Ethnicity fields in Campus Data Warehouse.   The IPEDS Race / Ethnicity and IPEDS Underrepresented Minority (URM) fields have replaced the Legacy Race / Ethnicity (pre-2026) and Legacy Underrepresented Minority (pre-2026) filters in the Controls dropdowns at the top of each dashboard, where appropriate.  Both the IPEDS and Legacy fields are available in the Group Breakdowns, but the Legacy fields will not have data for 2026 Fall applicants.   The Enrollment (Census) Overviews dashboard has been updated to replace the Legacy Race / Ethnicity (pre-2026) and Legacy Underrepresented Minority (pre-2026) fields in visuals with the IPEDS Race / Ethnicity and IPEDS Underrepresented Minority fields.   Updated dashboards include: Enrollment Fast Facts (Census and Daily Snapshots) E...

Update 5/20/2026:   The Course Grade Distributions dashboard in Campus Data Warehouse is continuing to be modified as the Provost's Office seeks to share additional information that will identify where more support is needed to enhance student success in course outcomes.  We will provide additional updates as this work progresses

 A new Public Records Act Request Grade Distributions Report dashboard is available in Campus Data Warehouse to assist with fulfilling Public Records Act requests related to grade distributions.   This dashboard is meant to be filtered to the requested Academic Years and then exported and shared to fulfill Public Records Act requests.   The new report excludes any non-letter administrative grades and includes by default, students graded in classes with a grade basis of Graded (GRD), Credit / No Credit (CNC), and ABC Graded / No Credit (ANC). A filter is available to change the included Grade Bases.   Classes with fewer than 10 students graded across the included letter grades are not included in the report.   Dashboard Location: Shared folders / Dashboards / Grades / Public Records Act Request Grade Distributions

The Course Registration Tracking dashboard has been updated in Campus Data Warehouse with new features to help academic staff and administrators monitor registrations at the course level as students are registering for the upcoming term. This and other courses-related dashboards are available to all employees. Getting there (login to Campus Data Warehouse through Okta): Shared folders > Dashboards > Courses (Pre-Census Snapshots) > Course Registration New metrics have been added that will help with evaluating demand and whether or not additional course sections may be needed. These include: Enroll Capacity Waitlist Total Waitlist Capacity In addition, the dashboard has enhanced visuals and standardized layout with other Courses-related dashboards. We’ve linked to a new resource to help bring greater context to your analysis across several Campus Data Warehouse dashboards. A direct link to the CSUMB Campus Calendar Events  resource page is now available from the Pre-Census and Preliminary dashboards, making it easier to reference key academic and administrative dates when comparing data for a current admissions/registration term with data from a prior term.  The resource link has been added to Admissions (Pre-Census Snapshots), Enrollment (Pre-Census Snapshots), Admissions Funnel Projections, Enrollment Planning, and Preliminary Retention and Graduation. This enhancement is especially helpful when working with Same Point in Time  comparisons (i.e. metrics captured the same number of days away from the term begin dates for two terms), where understanding the timing of events—such as registration milestones, census dates, and deadlines—can significantly impact interpretation of the metrics year-over-year. Based on user feedback and questions, a link to the survey instrument has been added as a resource to the CSUMB Experience Survey 2025 Results dashboard. The reference document includes full question text, response options, and the order questions were asked.  Users of the CSUMB Experience Survey 2025 Results dashboard can use this reference to find how the questions were asked, what the response options looked like, and how many responses could be provided to questions that allowed multiple responses.

The issue with the DFW Grades dashboard where some visuals were not displaying the on-visual menu that enables Export to CSV and Export to Excel has been fixed. Other visuals were also checked to ensure the on-visual menus are enabled so that users may export data from the dashboard visuals.
