Cal State Monterey Bay - Campus Data Warehouse Updates

Wait List metrics have been added to the metric selectors on the Class Schedule > Enrollment, Capacity, Units, FTES & SFR page and the Class Schedule > Multilevel Crosstab Table page.  These new metrics will allow users to identify class sections that have large numbers of students on the waitlist and to identify how many class sections across a course have students on the waitlist that may justify adding additional sections of a class to meet demand.  Tip: to sort the Class Schedule by the Total Wait List field, use the Sort feature on the Subject Description, Academic Course Named, and Class Section Code column headers to sort those rows in Descending order by Total Wait List. This will sort the subjects, courses and sections by the Total Wait List and help identify subjects, courses and class sections with more students on the wait list.

Update 11/07/2025:  Changes to the Enrollment (Census) Overviews dashboard to fix the colors on the bar charts to be consistent throughout are now available in production. Additional layout and visualization changes were made for consistency across all visuals on the overviews including making legends a larger font size, moving legend location to the top for all bar visualizations, and widening bar visualizations where appropriate. 

Updated 11/07/2025:  The logic fix for pivoting the "GE Class Area," "Class Attribute: GE 25," and "Class Attribute: General Education 2021-2024" fields on the various course-related dashboards has been migrated to production.  Dashboards with these fields available as filters show the expected values. Classes that satisfy multiple GE areas will have combined descriptions (e.g. 5B |5C for GE 25). For selecting a class which satisfies multiple GE class areas, use the combined description from the filter control dropdown.  Other changes for these fields will be coming soon, including a renaming of the fields to indicate which ones were relevant within date ranges and also additions of the GE25 fields across all of the courses-related dashboards. 

In our October 30 DUAG workshop, users discovered an issue with the Enrollment Term filter control on the new Not Retained and Not Graduated page of the Preliminary Retention and Graduation (Non-Census) dashboard. When selecting earlier Enrollment Terms on the Not Retained and Not Graduated page of the Preliminary Retention and Graduation (Non-Census) dashboard, several visualizations show No data, blank columns, and the appropriate cohort matriculation term is not updating as expected.  Issue has been identified as two calculated fields used as filters, "Terms to Include Spring" and "Terms to Include Fall," need calculation logic modified to use the Enrollment Term parameter rather than most recent fall census term. This will be a QuickSight analysis fix only.
