Resolved: Faculty Student Success Dashboard - Canvas Retrofits Required

Resolution update 9/4/2025: 

Changes were made to the integration processes and code base to accommodate the changes to the Canvas Course naming conventions. 

With the release of the new Faculty Student Success dashboard in production at the start of the Fall 2025 term, Canvas data is updating as expected on the dashboard in production. Faculty may use the new Faculty Student Success dashboard to monitor their courses' Canvas data. 

Original issue:

The Campus Data Warehouse team is aware of a problem with the Faculty Student Success dashboard in production. Canvas data may not appear for current and future terms (e.g. Winter 2025, Spring 2025) due to a recent change in the course naming convention in Canvas that requires retrofit for the integration of Canvas and PeopleSoft data to function. We are currently working on a solution.

The four characters at the end of the course names (e.g SP25) are changing to term code (e.g. 2252). The Faculty Student Success dashboard (FSSD) will be impacted as it uses courses.NAME to derive the relationship between Canvas and PeopleSoft data.  The impact for users is that faculty will not be able to see Canvas data for courses after the name change is in effect in Canvas (e.g. 2251 and after) until the logic has been updated to accommodate this change.
