Cal State Monterey Bay - Campus Data Warehouse Updates

We are pleased to share that a new College Annual Metrics dashboard is now available in Campus Data Warehouse production. The College Annual Metrics dashboard brings together annual college-level metrics in one place to support planning, annual reporting, program review, and conversations about student success and instructional activity. Users can select a college and review recent trends, year-over-year changes, and comparisons with Cal State Monterey Bay overall where available. The dashboard includes the following pages: FTEs (State) Overview: Review state-support Major FTEs, Instructional Student FTEs, and Student Faculty Ratio together to understand broad college-level trends over time. Student Diversity: Explore how the student population in your college has changed by gender, first-generation status, and IPEDS Underrepresented Minority status, with comparisons to Cal State Monterey Bay overall. The enhanced Time and Average Units to Degree dashboard is now available in Campus Data Warehouse production.  The dashboard has been updated with new features and user experience improvements, including a new Trends dashboard page, redesigned visuals and interactions, and standardized filter control layouts for consistency with other ERSD dashboards. Getting There Campus Data Warehouse:  Shared folders / Dashboards / Degrees / Degrees (Census) / Time and Average Units to Degree Enhanced Overview Page The Overview page has been updated to include Postbaccalaureate summary metrics in addition to First-Time Freshmen and Upper Division Transfer students. The summary table now displays headcount, years to degree average, total units earned average, campus units earned average, and transfer units earned adjusted average by admission basis group. Update 7/16/2026: Degrees-related dashboards based on the ERS Degrees and Degree Composite datasets have been updated with the renaming of Legacy Race / Ethnicity fields and the addition of IPEDS Race / Ethnicity fields in Campus Data Warehouse. The IPEDS Race / Ethnicity and IPEDS Underrepresented Minority (URM) fields have replaced the Legacy Race / Ethnicity (pre-2026) and Legacy Underrepresented Minority (pre-2026) filters in the Controls dropdowns at the top of each dashboard, where appropriate.  Both the IPEDS and Legacy fields are available in the Group Breakdowns, but the Legacy fields will not have data for 2026 Fall applicants.   Updated dashboards include: ERS Degree Shared folders / Dashboards / Degrees / Degrees (Census) / Degrees (Census) - Academic Years Detail Shared folders / Dashboards / Degrees / Degrees (Census) / Degrees (Census) - Terms Detail Shared folders / Dashboards / Degrees / Degrees (Census) / Time and Average Units to Degree Degree Composite...

Update July 16, 2026:    A fix for the Academic Plan effective dates at census has been applied to Institution Summary [i.e. Retention and Graduation] dashboards in Campus Data Warehouse production. This fix adjusts Academic Plan at Matriculation data that changed after census snapshots to their status as of census of their matriculation term where possible. This resolves many of the discrepancies on the Retention and Graduation dashboards between the Major Concentration (e.g. College Description/Major Long Description at Matriculation) and Academic Plan (e.g. Academic Plan Owner/Academic Plan at Matriculation) fields.  

Update 7/16/2026: Issue Resolved -  The Course Registration dashboard has been updated in Campus Data Warehouse production to fix an issue that was causing incorrect capacity metrics for some courses.  The issue was caused by duplicate course-level records in the Student Enrollment Aggregate - Snapshot dataset. The model was grouping records at a level that did not fully align with the dimensions being included, which caused some enrollment, waitlist, capacity, and percentage-of-capacity metrics to be aggregated incorrectly for certain courses. The data model has been updated to better align the grouping logic with the underlying student enrollment snapshot data. The Course Registration dashboard calculations were also adjusted so enrollment, capacity, waitlist, units, and percentage-of-capacity metrics aggregate correctly across academic careers.
