Cal State Monterey Bay - Campus Data Warehouse Updates

Update 3/27/2025:  After our Spring 2025 APDB Census data load, the Campus Data Warehouse team has identified that data for Spring 2025 on the Cost of Instruction dashboards is incorrect after the APDB load. Values are inflated for Enrollment and potentially other metrics due to an issue with duplicate records. We are working to troubleshoot the problem in both our legacy (Oracle) and modernized (QuickSight) systems.

A new Group Breakdown Look-Up dashboard page has been added to the Navigation and Help dashboard in Campus Data Warehouse production.  Users will be able to use this dashboard to search for the "Group Breakdown" field to identify which "Group Breakdown Category" to find the field in across various data models and dashboards.  We will overview and test this with DUAG in our March 27 workshop. Update 3/26/2025: The Degrees (Census) - Academic Years Detail dashboard has been updated in Campus Data Warehouse to fix issues with Academic Plan filters that were not filtering the data on the dashboards as expected. In addition, other minor fixes were made to correct formatting with notes on the dashboards and remove redundant Academic Plan filters on the CSUMB / College / Major Comparisons dashboard.    Multilevel Crosstab Table:  Add a filter for CSU Academic Plan = "pAcademicPlanOwner" to all table views,  CSUMB / College / Major Comparisons:  Remove redundant Acad Plan filters from visualizations,  Fix notes/delete icons,  Degrees Awarded Academic Year Trends:  Fix notes/delete icons,    Update : Changed Percent Complete from "0 %" to "100 %". Updated 3/26/2025: The Course GPA Equity Gaps dashboard in Campus Data Warehouse has been corrected so that the First Generation metrics that previously appeared all as zeros are now populating with the expected values.   

The Campus Data Warehouse has been loaded with ERS applicant and student census data for the Spring 2025.  You may now find updated census data on the following dashboards: Enrollment: Enrollment (Census) > Terms Detail Enrollment (Census) > Academic Years Detail Term Enrollment Fast Facts > Enrollment Fast Facts (Census) Admissions: Admissions Funnel (Census Snapshots) > Admissions Funnel Detail Academic Program Review: Admissions Demographics Several Common Data Set and Chancellor's Office Reports dashboards. Note: We need your help ensuring that any problems you see get reported. Please submit a  Campus Data Warehouse Problem ticket  for any issues so that we can resolve them. 

Update 3/20/2025:  Daily snapshot data loads into our legacy (Oracle) Campus Data Warehouse have resumed. Both legacy and modernized (QuickSight) systems are now capturing daily snapshots on Admissions Funnel, ERS Student, and ERS-derived fields across the various dashboards. 

The Academic Program Review dashboards have been updated in Campus Data Warehouse production.   All users may access the Academic Program Review dashboards from the Navigation and Help dashboard (see "Academic Program Review" topic):   Or access via the Shared folders navigation:   Shared folders > Dashboards > Academic Program Review   Notable changes include:   Reformatting layouts to be more consistent with other dashboards in Campus Data Warehouse,  Removal of Federal Tax Information-derived fields from dashboards (Low Income and Pell Eligibility), in compliance with federal financial aid regulations,  Renamed "Intro" page to "Academic Program Review Intro",  Links added throughout to return to Academic Program Review Intro page,  Reformatted tables to avoid horizontal scrollbars where possible,  Removal of narrative static text blocks,  Fixed broken links on the Academic Program Review Intro,...

The APDB Section - Multilevel Crosstab Table dashboard has been updated in Campus Data Warehouse production and includes new features:  New fields have been added to the APDB Section dataset and are available on the dashboard as Group Breakdowns in the "Course Characteristics" group breakdown category.  New "Metric Views" are available on the dashboard to enable users to select a Single Metric on the pivot table with "% of Total" metrics added.  

The Campus Data Warehouse team is aware of a problem with the "HEGIS Campus Description" field on the Academic Planning Database (APDB) dashboards in production. Some HEGIS Codes are showing "Not Applicable" instead of their appropriate Descriptions from the source. We are currently working on a solution.
