Preliminary Retention and Graduation (Non-Census) Enhancements Available

We are pleased to announce that enhancements to the Preliminary Retention and Graduation (Non-Census) dashboard are now available in Campus Data Warehouse. 

Enhancements to Preliminary Retention and Graduation (Non-Census) available in Production
  • Consolidated Spring and Fall retention into one page that automatically updates term view based on registration term in progress
  • Additional years added for each tracking metric so that current cohort can be compared with prior 5 cohorts
  • New KPI visualizations showing change for current registration term versus prior cohort
  • Heat map coloring shows intensity for each metric across cohorts
  • New Retention page allows for automatic update of spring or fall registration term, new KPIs, additional years of history, and heat map coloring on tables.

  • New Not Retained and Not Graduated page enables analyses of students from cohort not retained and not graduated by College and Major, Student Origin, Demographics, and Preparation at Matriculation
  • New Not Retained and Not Graduated page enables understanding more about the students from each cohort that are not retained and not graduated.

  • New Multilevel Crosstab with user experience design improvements
    • New Group Breakdown controls, simplified controls
    • Table layouts change based on Group Breakdown selections (eliminates extra empty row headers)
    • Heat map coloring shows intensity for each metric across groups
    • New Multilevel Crosstab table on the Preliminary Retention and Graduation (Non-Census) dashboard allows for more granular analyses of the preliminary metrics during the registration cycle.


  • Legacy tabs still available as last three tabs, some visualization changes for consistency across graphs one each pages (e.g. consistent vertical axis ranges)
    • Legacy dashboard pages remain available on the enhanced dashboard. Some visualization updates were made for consistency.

GC0004650 - Enhancements to Preliminary Retention Dashboard

We need a multilevel crosstab table to be able to dig into and compare retention rates across different groups of students to identify those that are not being retained.

Users would also like the inverse metric (those not retained) to be able to break down these data and identify student groups not retained.

Need this in production before Spring 2026 registration begins the week of 10/20/2025. This should be part of our DUAG workshop for October and then re-emphasize in December.
