Cal State Monterey Bay - Campus Data Warehouse Updates

Update 11/19/2024:   The DFW Grades dashboard has been updated in Campus Data Warehouse production to reorder the dashboard controls logically based on hierarchy and which controls control relevant values in subsequent controls. "Subject Description" is now ordered before "Academic Course Name."  

Updated 11/18/2024: The percentages listed for C11 Test Scores Submitted on the Common Data Set C - FTF Admissions dashboard have been adjusted to reflect the percentage of column. Original message:   The Campus Data Warehouse team is aware of a problem with the Common Data Set C - FTF Admissions dashboard in production where the percentages listed for C11 Test Scores Submitted are not calculated as expected. We are currently working on a solution. A resolution is estimated to be available by 11/15/2024.  This issue is being worked on in ITSR# 23617742. Date reported: Tue 11/12/24. 

The Campus Data Warehouse team is aware of a problem in production where the "Gender (IPEDS)" field displays NULL values across various ERS-based data models/dashboards (e.g. Admissions Funnel, ERS Student, ERS Degree, and Institution Summary). We are currently working on a solution.  This issue is being worked on in ITSR# 23636029.

Update 11/14/2024: The typos for "Matrix" in the "Select a Report" dashboard controls and associated conditional display rules have been corrected on the Meeting Pattern dashboard in Campus Data Warehouse.

Updated 11/14/2024 : The "Academic Plan" and "Student Funding Type Description" filters are now working as expected on the Enrollment (Pre-Census) dashboard Multilevel Crosstab Table page in Campus Data Warehouse.

Updated 11/8/2024:  The Enrollment (Census) Overviews dashboard has been updated in Campus Data Warehouse to remove "Low Income" (FTI-derived data).  Other formatting updates to standardize and modify the layout were also completed. 

The Common DAta Set C - FTF Admissions dashboard has been updated in Campus Data Warehouse to display 25th and 75th percentile scores needed for Common Data Set reporting. Previously these had to be calculated with other tools due to limitations in the calculations in our legacy data warehouse system.  New features:  C - FTF Admissions:  New metrics were added for each of the Redesigned SAT and ACT scores to display 25th percentile and 75th percentile scores in addition to the median scores (50th percentile) that were already available.    Ticket - 23494627   Service - Software & Applications / Campus Data Warehouse Model & Report Enhancement Update - Changed Status from In Process to Completed . Due to ongoing migration problems in QuickSight, the Campus Data Warehouse team requires dedicated maintenance windows for us to work on migrations and fixes in production.  During these windows, users should expect maintenance work to be in progress in production that could impact various dashboards as we work to address problems.  Solving migration problems sometimes involves vendor-suggested workarounds of deleting and replacing dashboards in production. Errors may also occur on some dashboards. User impacts: dashboards may become temporarily unavailable or may not function as expected during these windows. New dashboard available!   Campus Data Warehouse users now have access to the newly released Course Modality Survey Fall 2024 dashboard.   Access via Shared Folders > Surveys > Course Modality Survey > Course Modality Survey Fall 2024.     The Course Modality Survey Fall 2024 dashboard includes the following dashboard pages and data visualizations:  Ideal Semester : displays the distribution of classes preferred by course type and modality, average classes preferred by course type and modality, and satisfaction with program modality (for non-Bachelor's Respondents).  Summer 2025 : visualizes interest and course and modality preferences for Summer 2025 class enrollment.  Winter 2025 : visualizes interest in and course modality preferences for Winter 2025 class enrollment.  Spring 2025 : visualizes registration challenges for Spring 2025 enrollment. The Campus Data Warehouse has recently been loaded with ERS Credential data for the Issuance Year 2023-2024, and the self-support data have been merged into ERS Student for Spring 2024.   You may now find updated data on the following dashboards:   Credentials:   Credential Recommendations  Enrollment:   Enrollment (Census) > Terms Detail  Enrollment (Census) > Academic Years Detail  Term Enrollment Fast Facts > Enrollment Fast Facts (Census)  Other dashboards utilizing ERS Student data such as Academic Program Review, Common Dataset, and Chancellor's Office Reports.  Note: These continue to be some of the first regular census data loads we have done in the modernized Campus Data Warehouse.  We need your help ensuring any problems you see get reported. Please submit a  Campus Data Warehouse Problem ticket  for any issues so that we can resolve them. 

Update 11/7/2024 : The Common Data Set > B - Enrollment dashboard has been fixed in production.   The B3 CDS - Degrees section on the dashboard now responds appropriately to the "Fall of Year" control selection made at the top of the page.

Update 11/5/2024 : Daily enrollment snapshots are now appearing on the applicable pre-census, enrollment planning, and other daily enrollment dashboards in Campus Data Warehouse. Note: due to a known issue with dynamic defaults on some dashboards , you may need to change the Term and Snapshot Date selections in the dashboard filter controls to see the most updated data. ERS - Student dataset refreshed after the migration of stored procedures and updated dataset.

Update 11/04/2024: The temporary workaround Campus Data Warehouse implemented to clean up the duplicate degree records runs after the daily load of the data warehouse each morning. The cleanup process is scheduled to be completed by 8:10 AM. If viewing these dashboards after the load has been completed but before the cleanup process completes at 8:10 AM, you may see incorrect data on Degrees (Census) dashboards. Update 10/15/2024: The Campus Data Warehouse team has implemented a temporary fix to correct the degree counts for Academic Year 2023 in production. You may now use the Degrees (Census) dashboards updated with the corrected data. We continue to work on a fix for the underlying cause of the duplicate counts and will provide further updates as they become available.
