New Features: Enhancements to Courses & Grades Dashboards Now Available

We’re excited to share a new round of enhancements to Courses- and Grades-related dashboards in the Campus Data Warehouse. These updates focus on improving usability, consistency, and alignment with evolving General Education (GE) frameworks—making it easier to find, explore, and interpret your data.

What’s New

Updated General Education Filters

To better reflect prior and current GE structures:

  • The legacy “GE Area” filters have been renamed to “General Education Area (2021–2024)”
  • A new “General Education Area (2025)” filter has been added across dashboards

These updates ensure you can clearly distinguish between GE frameworks and analyze data with the appropriate context.

Improved Group Breakdown Experience

We’ve redesigned the Group Breakdown controls to make them more intuitive and efficient:

  • Simplified control layout for easier navigation
  • Enhanced search functionality to quickly locate values
  • A more streamlined experience when switching between groupings

This makes it faster to drill into the data that matters most to you.

Standardized Dashboard Layouts

All updated dashboards now feature:

  • Consistent layout and control placement
  • Standardized filtering experience across dashboards
  • Cleaner, more predictable navigation

Whether you’re exploring Courses or Grades dashboards, you’ll now have a more cohesive experience from one dashboard to the next.

New “Related” Tabs

To help you discover relevant insights more easily, each dashboard now includes a “Related” tab:

  • Quickly navigate to other dashboards connected to your current analysis
  • Reduce time spent searching for complementary reports
  • Support more seamless, end-to-end data exploration

Where You’ll See These Changes

These enhancements have been applied across a wide range of Courses and Grades dashboards, including:

  • Courses (Non-Census) dashboards (Class Schedule, Course Enrollment Demographics, etc.)
  • Academic Planning Database (APDB) dashboards
  • Grades dashboards (e.g., Pass Rates, DFW Grades, GPA Equity Gaps, Grade Distributions)

All updates are now available in production and build on existing dashboards.

Why This Matters

These improvements are designed with end users in mind:

  • Clarity: Updated GE filters align with current and future frameworks
  • Efficiency: Faster filtering and easier navigation
  • Consistency: A unified experience across dashboards
  • Connectivity: Better access to related analyses
