Last School Attend fields have been added to the Course Enrollment Demographics and Grades dashboards in Campus Data Warehouse. This will facilitate understanding of questions such as:  How many of the students enrolled in my course or my departments courses come from a given high school or community college?  What was the last school attended by the students enrolled in a particular course or set of courses?  Do course outcomes (grades, DFW rates, etc.) differ by the last school attended of the students enrolled in the course(s)?  The Course Enrollment Demographics | Overview dashboard page has a new geovisualization to map the locations of the last school attended by the students enrolled in a selected course and a table lists the last school attend location and school type of the students enrolled in the selected course. Update 7/16/2026: Issue Resolved -  The Course Registration dashboard has been updated in Campus Data Warehouse production to fix an issue that was causing incorrect capacity metrics for some courses.  The issue was caused by duplicate course-level records in the Student Enrollment Aggregate - Snapshot dataset. The model was grouping records at a level that did not fully align with the dimensions being included, which caused some enrollment, waitlist, capacity, and percentage-of-capacity metrics to be aggregated incorrectly for certain courses. The data model has been updated to better align the grouping logic with the underlying student enrollment snapshot data. The Course Registration dashboard calculations were also adjusted so enrollment, capacity, waitlist, units, and percentage-of-capacity metrics aggregate correctly across academic careers. The Course Registration Tracking dashboard has been updated in Campus Data Warehouse with new features to help academic staff and administrators monitor registrations at the course level as students are registering for the upcoming term. This and other courses-related dashboards are available to all employees. A new  Enrolled Student Count metric was added as an option on Course Enrollment Demographics Trends and Multilevel Crosstab Table in Campus Data Warehouse.  The new Enrolled Student Count metric will enable academic organizations / subjects to see an unduplicated count of students that are taking any course in their Academic Organization or Subject.  

Updated 4/7/2026:  The parameter links from analysis to dataset broke during migration from stage to production. This was causing the Group Breakdowns as well as the Number of Years to include behave incorrectly. The analysis was modified in production to remove and then relink the analysis and dataset parameters and the analysis was republished in production. The parameter controls for the Group Breakdowns and Number of Years to include are now working as expected.

Following January DUAG and Focus Group feedback, the following enhancements were made and are now available on the Class Meeting Timeblocks dashboard in Campus Data Warehouse production:  Add Academic Course Name on-dashboard control/filters on all pages (for identifying curriculum conflicts).  Add Combined Course Section control/filter in Controls section all pages.   Note and conditional symbol added to indicate Combined sections on detail table.  Note and link to all Combined Sections for selected filters all pages.  New S3 datasource integration to dataset and URL action (menu) for 25Live space entries added on detail table.     

A new dashboard, Class Meeting Timeblocks, is available in Campus Data Warehouse to support planning and analysis, combining class scheduled meeting patterns, building and room usage, and campus approved timeblock alignment in one place. The new dashboar is designed to support academic scheduling, space utilization, and student-centered planning of course curriculum and scheduling.  This dashboard helps you answer questions like: How are classes scheduled across the week? What are the most popular and least used days and class times? When does the campus experience peak scheduling demand? Where is there additional capacity during the instructional week? How are classrooms and buildings being used? Which buildings and rooms are used most frequently for instruction? What subjects or departments rely most heavily on specific facilities? When are rooms underutilized or not scheduled for classes? How do scheduling patterns differ by subject, level, or modality? Do...

A heatmap visualization of Class Section Count and Students Enrolled in classes by day of the week and meeting start time is now available in Campus Data Warehouse on the new Class Meeting Timeblocks dashboard (see Weekly Distribution and Compliance ). The new Class Meeting Timeblocks dashboard can be found:  In:  Shared folders / Dashboards / Class Meeting Timeblocks.  Or, from the  Navigation and Help dashboard  in Campus Data Warehouse, you can find "Class Meeting Timeblocks" under the  Courses topic  and click "Navigate >" to the "Weekly Distribution and Compliance" page.

All dashboards under Shared Folders > Dashboards > Courses are now available to the general user role (all employees) in the Campus Data Warehouse.   This change will allow all users to explore additional Courses and Scheduling-focused dashboards including Class Schedule, Class Meeting Timeblocks, APDB, and other dashboards without going through the Alternative Data Access Request process. 

Update 2/11/2026: The APDB Overview page was update in production to replace the dynamic default parameter for the Term filter to use "lastfallcensusterm_apdb" rather than "lastcensusterm_apdb." The APDB Overview, like the other overview dashboards, will now update to the most recent fall census term for the data model.

Update 11/25/2025:  The issue with terms prior to the 2014 Academic Year on dashboards built off of the Class Enrollment Dataset has been resolved in Campus Data Warehouse production. Grades, FSSD, and Course Enrollment Demographics should now show the historical data when selecting prior Academic Years on the dashboards. Example from Course Enrollment Demographics > Trends showing historical data prior to 2014 Academic Year.

Wait List metrics have been added to the metric selectors on the Class Schedule > Enrollment, Capacity, Units, FTES & SFR page and the Class Schedule > Multilevel Crosstab Table page.  These new metrics will allow users to identify class sections that have large numbers of students on the waitlist and to identify how many class sections across a course have students on the waitlist that may justify adding additional sections of a class to meet demand.  Tip: to sort the Class Schedule by the Total Wait List field, use the Sort feature on the Subject Description, Academic Course Named, and Class Section Code column headers to sort those rows in Descending order by Total Wait List. This will sort the subjects, courses and sections by the Total Wait List and help identify subjects, courses and class sections with more students on the wait list.

Updated 11/07/2025:  The logic fix for pivoting the "GE Class Area," "Class Attribute: GE 25," and "Class Attribute: General Education 2021-2024" fields on the various course-related dashboards has been migrated to production.  Dashboards with these fields available as filters show the expected values. Classes that satisfy multiple GE areas will have combined descriptions (e.g. 5B |5C for GE 25). For selecting a class which satisfies multiple GE class areas, use the combined description from the filter control dropdown.  Other changes for these fields will be coming soon, including a renaming of the fields to indicate which ones were relevant within date ranges and also additions of the GE25 fields across all of the courses-related dashboards. 

Update 4/24/2025: " GE Class Area"  is displaying as expected across all of the impacted course-related dashboards except for Cost of Instruction, which cannot yet be validated due to ongoing issues with the Cost of Instruction dashboard in production. Example below of GE Class Area "A1" in Fall 2024 shows FYS 111 and HCOM 110 courses in alignment with the source. Update 4/24/2025 : The Course Enrollment Demographics dashboard in Campus Data Warehouse production was updated to fix parameters not updating on dashboard reset and removal of "Low Income" data visualizations on the Overview. Update 4/24/2025:  The Course Enrollment Demographics > Trends dashboard page has been updated in Campus Data Warehouse production to modify the "% Class Headcount" field calculation to be aggregate for a given Term rather than Academic Years so that percentage totals are not split across multiple terms when multiple Term Names are selected. 

The Campus Data Warehouse team is aware of a problem with the APDB Section - Term FTES and SFR dashboard (and potentially other APDB Section dashboards). The Group Breakdown data for "CSU APDB Learning Mode" are not correctly populating (all appear null).   We are currently working on a solution.  In the meantime, you may continue to use "Course Modality Group" and "Flexible Course Option Group" breakdowns on the APDB Section dashboards. The APDB Section - Multilevel Crosstab Table dashboard has been updated in Campus Data Warehouse production and includes new features:  New fields have been added to the APDB Section dataset and are available on the dashboard as Group Breakdowns in the "Course Characteristics" group breakdown category.  New "Metric Views" are available on the dashboard to enable users to select a Single Metric on the pivot table with "% of Total" metrics added.  

The Campus Data Warehouse team is aware of a problem with the "HEGIS Campus Description" field on the Academic Planning Database (APDB) dashboards in production. Some HEGIS Codes are showing "Not Applicable" instead of their appropriate Descriptions from the source. We are currently working on a solution.
