Cal State Monterey Bay - Campus Data Warehouse Updates

Update 7/23/2026: Credentials-related dashboards based on the ERS Credentials dataset have been updated with the renaming of Legacy Race / Ethnicity fields and the addition of IPEDS Race / Ethnicity fields in Campus Data Warehouse. The IPEDS Race / Ethnicity and IPEDS Underrepresented Minority (URM) fields have replaced the Legacy Race / Ethnicity (pre-2026) and Legacy Underrepresented Minority (pre-2026) filters in the Controls dropdowns at the top of the dashboard, where appropriate. Both the IPEDS and Legacy fields are available in the Group Breakdowns, but the Legacy fields will not have data for Fall 2026 applicants and enrollees. Because students typically receive credential recommendations later in their academic careers, the impact on this dashboard may not become visible immediately. The ERS Student (enrollment Census and Pre-Census) dashboards in Campus Data Warehouse have been updated with a new Multiple Race Category filter available in the optional controls section at the top of each dashboard page. The new control provides a more granular way to identify and track students who selected multiple race categories. Users can filter for specific multi-race combinations. Multiple Race Category is a derived value based on student responses to the race question on the CSU Application for admission. Additional information about this field and its available values is provided in the CSUMB Data Glossary . The new control is especially useful within the census and pre-census Multilevel Crosstab Table pages, where users may need to examine enrollment data for students selecting particular combinations of race categories. The Project Rebound student group has been added to Campus Data Warehouse to support reporting and analysis for students participating in the program.  The new student group is available across the following data model and dashboard areas: Enrollment (Census and Pre-Census),  Retention and Graduation (Census and Preliminary),  Grades (Non-Census),  Degrees (Census),  Credentials (Census) Using the Project Rebound Student Group Where Group Breakdown controls are available, users can select: Student Group | Project Rebound This allows dashboard results to be grouped by Project Rebound participation. All updates are now available in Campus Data Warehouse production. Update July 16, 2026:    A fix for the Academic Plan effective dates at census has been applied to Institution Summary [i.e. Retention and Graduation] dashboards in Campus Data Warehouse production. This fix adjusts Academic Plan at Matriculation data that changed after census snapshots to their status as of census of their matriculation term where possible. This resolves many of the discrepancies on the Retention and Graduation dashboards between the Major Concentration (e.g. College Description/Major Long Description at Matriculation) and Academic Plan (e.g. Academic Plan Owner/Academic Plan at Matriculation) fields.  

Update 6/24/2026: The issue where the metric selector was not working properly on the Enrollment (Census) Academic Year Detail | Academic Year Trends was fixed by correcting the parameter reference passed from the control to the metric logic. The dashboard metrics now update as expected when the selector is changed.

The Enrollment Demographics (Non Census) dashboard in Campus Data Warehouse has been enhanced to facilitate easier querying and saving of dashboard customizations for extended education and international programs.  A new "Academic Program Code" filter control is added on the dashboard for selecting extended education programs and to facilitate sharing and saving dashboard customizations.  Other new filter controls include: "International Student" added on the dashboard and "IPEDS Underrepresented Minority (URM) Description" and "Study Agreement Group Description" added in the "Controls" section at the top of each dashboard page. In addition, the Group Breakdown controls on the Multilevel Crosstab Table were updated with the redesigned interaction. Update June 11, 2026:  The updated Historical Enrollment (Non-Census) dashboard is now available in Campus Data Warehouse production. The Group Breakdown logic was updated and fixed and the redesigned Group Breakdown user experience was implemented. Additional changes were made to the dashboard layout for consistency with other dashboards and a new parameter filter for Academic Program Code was also added for trending analysis for Extended Ed program trend tracking.  

We’ve linked to a new resource to help bring greater context to your analysis across several Campus Data Warehouse dashboards. A direct link to the CSUMB Campus Calendar Events  resource page is now available from the Pre-Census and Preliminary dashboards, making it easier to reference key academic and administrative dates when comparing data for a current admissions/registration term with data from a prior term.  The resource link has been added to Admissions (Pre-Census Snapshots), Enrollment (Pre-Census Snapshots), Admissions Funnel Projections, Enrollment Planning, and Preliminary Retention and Graduation. This enhancement is especially helpful when working with Same Point in Time  comparisons (i.e. metrics captured the same number of days away from the term begin dates for two terms), where understanding the timing of events—such as registration milestones, census dates, and deadlines—can significantly impact interpretation of the metrics year-over-year. Update 3/26/2026:  The issue with Tuition Load Status Description Group Breakdowns has been corrected in Campus Data Warehouse production and is now pulling the expected values on the Enrollment dashboards. 

Update 3/25/2026:  The issue with the null data appearing for Race / Ethnicity fields across Enrollment (ERS Student) and Admissions Funnel historical census dashboards has been resolved. These data are now populating across dashboards as expected.

The Enrollment (Census) Terms Detail > Term Trends page was updated with a fix so that the metrics appropriately change in the pivot table when users change the metric selector on the dashboard.  GC0023143 - Enrollment (Census) Terms Detail Trends Table Not Updating -  The pivot table on the Enrollment (Census) Term Trends page is not updating appropriately when changing the metric from Headcount to various FTE metric options. The metric stays as Headcount even if FTE metric is selected. The graph visuals on the page are updating as appropriate. Note: appears to be a parameter problem (not passing to the table calculation). 

The Enrollment (Census) Terms Detail and Enrollment (Census) Academic Years Detail dashboards have been updated in Campus Data Warehouse with usability improvements for dashboard controls, including a redesigned Group Breakdown and Metrics experience that makes it easier to find the information you need faster.   The Trends pages have been updated to include the redesigned Group Breakdown experience that was previously introduced on the Enrollment (Pre-Census Snapshots) dashboard. In addition, the other dashboard controls have been reorganized to follow a standard layout across all the dashboard pages and the table visualization now includes conditional color gradients that highlight the intensity of the metrics selected. The CSUMB / College / Major Comparisons pages have been streamlined to highlight the trend comparisons between the university overall, a selected Academic Plan Owner (College) and/or a selected Academic Plan (Major). Update 11/07/2025:  Changes to the Enrollment (Census) Overviews dashboard to fix the colors on the bar charts to be consistent throughout are now available in production. Additional layout and visualization changes were made for consistency across all visuals on the overviews including making legends a larger font size, moving legend location to the top for all bar visualizations, and widening bar visualizations where appropriate. 

We are pleased to announce that enhancements to the Enrollment Pre-Census Snapshots) dashboard are now available in Campus Data Warehouse. Enhancements include: Changed logic for Year Ago metrics to use Snapshot Day Number like Enrollment Planning and Admissions Pre-Census. Added additional Enrollment Metrics (FTEs and Units). Group Breakdown Redesign implemented, which will allow easier searching for users. Trends visualizations consistent with changes made to Admissions Pre-Census (difference and percent difference metrics are available in the table below and visuals have been updated to include additional enrollment metric selections).  Multilevel Crosstab Table user experience improvements: New Group Breakdown controls, simplified controls. Update  2/7/2025 :  The Enrollment Fast Facts (Census) dashboard has migrated to Campus Data Warehouse production and includes a visualization fix for the Region table collapse issue. This migration also includes a fix for the sticky parameter issue we were experiencing with the subtitle block where the term and date parameters did not refresh when users reset the dashboard.
